Peach Gelato

Shepard's Pie

Since we're still stuck in quarantine we've been making gelato twice a week. So far we've made coffee, mixed berry, and peach. We'll be making mint chocolate chip later this week. Below is our recipe for peach gelato if you're craving a refreshing afternoon snack.


Ingredients

1/2 Cup of Sugar

6 Egg Yolks

2 Cups of Milk

1 Cup of Cream

1 Cup of Blended Peaches (or favorite fruit)

4 TBS of Peach Jam (or other jam)




Instructions

1. Heat the milk and cream until it thickens.


2. Meanwhile, whisk the sugar and egg yolks.


3. Combine egg mix and the heated thickened milk. Stir rapidly so they all combine. Then refrigerate until the custard is cold.


4. Blend the frozen peaches so they are pureed. Then combine 1 cup of the frozen peach puree, 2 cups of the custard and the jam.


5. Put into ice cream maker for 20 minutes.


6. Put the ice cream in the freezer for an hour before service. It also helps if you put the bowls in the freezer too. Then serve and enjoy.
